Barbados has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, including the
beach at The Crane which has been rated as "one of the ten best beaches in the world" by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
Barbados has beaches on every coast. Those situated along the East coast are subject to winds blowing in from the Atlantic. The shore here is pounded by waves making it a very popular destination for the surfers from all over the world.
The South and West coasts are much calmer and you are able to walk for miles along white sandy beaches. You will find large and small beaches all the long the coast line that are broken by coral formations.
In the North of the island cliffs rise straight out of the ocean reaching as high as a hundred feet. But even here you will be be able find the occasional sheltered cove.
