The Sandpiper is an intimate, small hotel is discreetly located on the West Coast of Barbados and is one of the most exclusive small hotels in the West Indies. A charming hotel with great attention to detail and guest welfare. The Sandpiper is a member of the Elegant Resorts of Barbados and, together with their associate hotel, the Coral Reef Club, are the only family owned and managed luxury resorts on the island. The Sandpiper is situated on a long white sandy bay, with calm waters on St. James Beach. Swimming is excellent and a wide range of watersports are available. Just a six minute walk from Holetown, where there are many restaurants, bars and shops available.

All rooms at The Sandpiper are individually appointed and include: Wall safes, CD player/clock radios, fridges, toasters and hair dryers. Bathrooms have combination shower and tub. Indicate preference for king size or twin beds when booking. All rooms and suites offer views overlooking either the gardens, pool or Caribbean Sea.

Garden Room: Air conditioned rooms, each with king or twin beds, bathroom and patio or balcony. These rooms can accommodate 2 adults.

One Bedroom Suites: Air conditioned one bedroomed accommodation with separate living room containing a sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom and patio or balcony. These suites can accommodate either 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years.

Two Bedroom Suites: Air conditioned two bedroomed accommodation with separate living room containing a sofa bed, kitchen, two bathrooms and large patio or balcony. These suites can accommodate up to 6 persons.

Tree Top Suites: The two Tree Top Suites consist of a bedroom with four poster or canopied bed, spacious living room, a dressing area and a large bathroom with a big walk-in shower and separate tub - all air conditioned. Large covered terrace and open sundeck area with a pool which is approximately 12 feet by 9 feet by 3 feet deep. Featured in the living room is a television, DVD player, CD player and a selection of DVDs and CDs. There is also a complimentary starter bar. These suites both have views of the sea and can accommodate two adults.

One of these suites has a king size bed and the other one can convert from king to twin beds if required.

Dining: West Indian themed restaurant with a limed vaulted ceiling, koi ponds and chunky trellis. Bar and Lounge / Harold's Beach Bar.

Evening entertainment every evening during the winter and 3 - 4 evenings per week during the summer. Weekly Manager’s cocktail party followed by a buffet service. Weekly barbecues.

Dress Code: No shorts, jeans, T-shirts or sandals are allowed in the restaurant in the evenings.

The Sandpiper facilities include

Mosaic tiled swimming pool in tropical gardens, by the bar and restaurant. Fitness Centre - A personal trainer is available upon request at an additional fee. Two flood-lit tennis courts at the Sandpiper and there are two at their associate hotel, the Coral Reef Club.  The Sandpiper has its own watersports operation and offers complimentary: Waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, kayaking, Hobiecat and Sunfish sailing. Scuba diving and deep sea fishing are also available at an additional charge. There is an underwater park situated off Coral Reef Club (5 minutes walk down the beach) which is excellent for diving and snorkelling. Babysitting available (charge), Playground.
